My grandfather wrote this to my grandmother right after WWI. He was in the American Navy and she was a British civil servant. Written on Turkish currency, we think. It reads (I believe):
“To mark one year of service & three weeks (21 days) of love. One more year of service, but an eternity of love. All yours. 23 April 1921.”
